Growing Up

Brian Sasso was born on April 22, 1982 in Providence, RI in a middle class family of Italian immigrants. Brian was aware growing up that he had a half-brother named Finn that lived with an old romantic acquiantance of his mother (from a period when his parents were seperated), but he never knew his brother as a child.  He moved to San Diego, CA when he was 5 and was close childhood friends with Final Verdict's wife Amber, growing up. After experiencing a growth spurt in Junior High, he was a star High School athlete, as a State Champion Wrestler and All-State Defensive Tackle for the Football team. He was an outstanding honors student, and it also became clear he had a unique charm and charisma about him. Despite his popularity, he was still somewhat of a private person, only confiding and opening up about his home life to his very closest friends.

College & Starting His Career

Brian soon moved on to Stanford University, where he excelled as an excellent student with an incredible business mind a dominant, All-American collegiate wrestler, and a star Amateur Boxer winning the National Golden Gloves in the Super Heavyweight Division 4 times before he decided he wasn't going to pursue Boxing as a career. As an undergrad, Sasso was already thinking big as far as his future went. He started making several shrewd stock market investments that would make the top Wall Street experts jealous, and thinking of ways to market himself in his future career as a Professional Wrestler that he had decided upon. By the time he reached grad school at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, he had already become a multi-millionaire thanks to his financial wizardy.  As he pursed his MBA, he started his training to become a Professional Wrestler. Over the two years he trained while in Grad School and continued to increase the size of his wallet, he devised a clever marketing campaign which got his name out there, and created a great buzz around his impending Professional Debut. He also started his own Business called Sasso Enterprises, inventing a home exercise system, waffle maker, and other various products that he endorsed. The products sold surprisingly well, despite the fact that he was just a young upstart businessman with no real claim to fame other than his Collegiate Wrestling career and the hype he had created for himself. This was mostly due to the fact that Sasso's charisma shone though in his commercials in a way that convinced the masses to buy his products, and also captured the imaginations of TV viewers, including a naive Kansas farmgirl named Kyla Jensen (more on that later).

His Professional Debut

In the year 2005, Sasso made his debut, signing a huge contract despite the fact he had never wrestled a match yet and signing an enormous endorsement deal with a prominent shoe company, becoming the focus of a highly successful marketing campaign. He lived up to hype and then some as a Pro, tearing through the competition and going on a huge winning streak to start his career and becoming a huge fan favorite, tearing through some of the best competition there was to offer. His wealth and starpower increased even more due to this success, and within a year he had skyrocketed to Billionaire status and was seen fraternizing with Hollywood's Elite. It was also around this time that he was rumored to start developing substance abuse problems.

Despite his dominance, he was denied an opportunity to wrestle for a title shot due to backstage politics. Several key forces backstage were jealous of his early success, money and fame and fought to keep him spinning his wheels right below the glass ceiling. Eventually sick of the BS, Sasso signed a record breaking contract with Lizard King's 3CW in early 2008.

Additional Training

While he was waiting for his contract to expire so he could sign with 3CW, Sasso knew he would need to become a more dangerous all around weapon against the top competition there. So he had MMA Superstar Anderson Silva flown out to his estate in La Jolla, CA where he now resided and train him in the art of Muay Thai to improve his standup, Silva still works with him periodically to this day on his striking. He also started training in Jiu Jitsu with Eddie Bravo in Hollywood to help make his ground game more well rounded. Sasso has used his Jiu Jitsu training mostly for defensive purposes during his matches, as he's known as someone who doesn't like to rely on submissions to win matches.

Starting Out In 3CW

Sasso started out as a fan favorite in 3CW, impressing fans with in ring prowess. Although he suffered his first professional defeat to Omega in the 3CW World Heavyweight Championship tournament, he still found success early on including memorable back to back matches with future Champion Aussie where Sasso defeated him, then went to a draw in a memorable steel cage match. Soon he began teaming with fellow fan favorite, and his good friend, Hey Yo. Sasso and Hey Yo had met at a party a few years earlier, and found common ground with their love of alcohol and wrestling. The two were a dream team of sorts and almost unstoppable. Soon they were close to achieving the dream they had set years ago of holding tag team gold together.

Sasso's Fall From Grace

Unfortunately, Sasso's demons caught up to him and shortly before he and Hey Yo were set to wrestle in a match to crown the first ever 3CW Tag Team Champions, he disappeared and Hey Yo renounced him as his partner. Nobody in 3CW knew this, thanks to a good cover up by Sasso's publicist, but he had gotten into a car accident while on an assortment of illegal substances and was taken to rehab.

When Sasso got out of rehab, he was contact by a 3CW Wrestler who held a serious grudge against Hey Yo. This wrestler said he knew that Sasso's parents were in the country illegally, and if he didn't do everything he told him to, he would rat them out and have them deported back to Italy, which would put their lives in grave danger. Sasso's father in his younger years had associated with some seedy business partners and ended up crossing the wrong people, forcing him to flee the country and take hiding. He had done a good job keeping a low profile, but if word got out about his deportation (and it would) he and his wife's lives would be in grave danger once they returned to the country.

Sasso was faced with a decision ..... possibly get his parents killed, or use his power and resources to ruin the life of his friend? Sasso made the tough decision, and went along with his blackmailers plan.  Also, by his side assisting him were RIOKINGOFKINGS and The Creative One, until TCO decided to become his own man and broke free of Sasso. TCO ended up losing an epic Weapons Filled Barbed Wire Steel Cage Death Match to Sasso, but he gained the respect of the fans at the same time. Sasso meanwhile committed unspeakable acts against his one time friend at the direction of his puppetmaster. He got Hey Yo evicted from his house, assaulted Hey Yo several times, and most heinous of all, dragged Hey Yo's brother behind a truck causing him to be disfigured and suffer brain damage. Sasso secretly tried to help Hey Yo out by paying for his brother's hospital bills anonymously, and helping him get his house back, but he knew that it was nothing in comparison to the damage he had caused him.

Sasso became cold and distant as he committed these heinous acts, and started relying on substance abuse again just to cope with the knowledge of what he'd done and get through the day. Eventually his feud with Hey Yo climaxed with a Loser Leaves Town Hell In a Cell Match at the Evolution PPV. Sasso had a nervous breakdown on the day of the match and arrived at the arena heavily under the influence of several drugs, going on delusional rants and having to be dragged to the ring. Once there, an enraged Hey Yo laid a beating on him that left Sasso without a job and with injuries that were though to be career ending.
